How many of the final 2 basketball teams in 5A and 4A will be select next year

I know Washington doesn't care who they play. Considering they took down Madison Prep this year and almost LCA they'll play public or private.

By my count, only 2a has private schools in the final.

How does that work exactly? Byrd played Rummel in the Select finals, then dropped to Non Select the next 2 years. Scotlandville has been Non Select as well in football. Both are magnets.

Possibly because basketball coaches don't have much say so in Calcasieu Parish. Principals are ADs, not coaches.
If you did an anonymous poll between all coaches, whether they are an asst or head coach, and you will see most don't like the split.

I'm just going off coaches that I talk to all the time. Most are assistants and don't like the split. Obviously a lot of others I talk to love the split. I am against the split and always have been and all I have ever worked for is public schools.

It's based off the percentage of kids that actually live in the attendance zone. Scotlandville will be select next year as i was told recently.
