How many ncaaf teams have gone undefeated in the regular season, lost in the NC?

2003 OU got hammered in the Big 12 Championship Game. I don't think they really count. A lot of the other teams you mentioned lost to another undefeated team. The only teams that didn't were 2006 Ohio State and 2011 LSU and now 2016 Alabama.

several of the teams i listed lost to undefeated teams

92 Miami, 95 Florida, 99 VT, 02 Miami, 04 OU, 05 USC, 09 Texas, 10 Oregon all lost to undefeated terms
