In fact, up until the late 80's they were the winningest franchise in all of sports.

Not surprised Denver is at the top of the list. I would say they are the most consistent team in the league in the super bowl era. Even the historical blue bloods (Dallas, Green Bay, San Fran, Pittsburgh, NY Giants) have gone through periods of mediocre to bad years. Denver always seemed to have avoided that for the most part

If Denver wasn't first, you wouldn't have started this thread.

Congrats on the runner-up trophy and for having a whopping three seasons in a row without a losing record, with just that trophy to show for it.

Exactly. And regardless of me being a Denver fan, it's crazy to think that it's been that long since back-to-back losing records were posted.

Example of stats being thrown around without much thought; the top 10 makes up 31% of the league (10/32)

but if you look at the teams who have won the most Super Bowls

the top 3 have 16
the top 6 have 28 (more than half)
the top 9 have 37 (almost 3/4s)
the top 12 have 43

the other 20 have 7 among them

13 have none, so about 40% of the league is halfway to being the Cubs!

made an error - some of the 13 are expansion teams so they aren't as far along to being the Cubs
