How is Sam Darnold different from other USC QBs who were all busts

USC QBs in the NFL have all been busts since Carson Palmer.
Now all this hype about Sam Darnold because of one half of a season, and how the Jets/Bills are tanking to get him. How is he projected so high, do people not learn their lessons about USC QBs.
I still remember 2009 how Matt Barkley was already the #1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and a sure fire pro QB. And how Mark Sanchez was a great pick at #6 for the Jets.

Not saying he's definitely going to be good, but there can always be a first.

Unless the QBs are coming from a specific system it's stupid to factor past QBs from the same school in a guy's evaluation. It's irrelevant.

Ahhhhhh,
Matt Barkley busted 8 years ago after attending USC. I forgot this means a guy playing under a completely different staff several recruiting cycles later will also be a bust. Thanks for reminding me of this brilliant logic.

Darnold is different than all the other USC QB's. He wasn't claimed a 5 star goat as a 5th grader like Leinart and Barkley.
If I am correct his recruitment was extremely under the radar which imo is a great predictor of success for a top nfl qb.

I think he's being crowned way too soon as well, but as others have said, what Matt Leinert and Matt Barkley have done is completely irrelevant

Palmer is not a bust either. Leinart and Sanchez both sucked. Sanchez for his limitations, and Leinart just didn't have the work ethic to succeed in the pros. I don't know what any of this has to do with Darnold thou. This is a terrible troll job

Idk if he'll be good in the NFL. But he sure as shite passes the eye test.
