How is Mike Vrabel not runaway coach of the year?

We have played 87 players this season due to injury. That is a NFL record. In the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE. Our woeful offense is basically practice squad guys. Forget the elite losses of Henry AJ brown and on and on and on. We have had the worst luck with injuries than any team ever. Granted we haven’t lost the Qb but he wasn’t the strength but has helped us through this hard time. Currently #2 seed. It’s unbelievable what he has done this season.

I get what bill has done with a new group but if he lost literally every player due to injury except mac Jones I don’t think they would be where we are. We mercifully are in a pitiful division that helps a lot but our squad is about like Detroit right now but a better defense

They’ve had a bad run of luck but this number is a by product of the new IR rules and expanded rosters. Much more roster movement and players on IR because it isn’t as permanent as it used to be
The top 3 teams all time in this stat are all from the last 3 seasons since they made the change in the rules.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought NFL records were only for stats and things that have happened the past 3 years.

And that brutal stretch where we beat KC, Buffalo, the rams on a short week, Indianapolis, and the Saints all in row without a bye. Crippled our team. Won all those games and then our carcus lost to Houston because we had no players. Please god let us at least have Henry for the playoffs. What a wasted season otherwise

Yeah I’m not trying to argue that you haven’t had an insane amount of injuries, or that Vrabel shouldn’t be a COTY candidate, just that the “entire history of the league” part is a little watered down. This is an older list from a week or two ago but it highlights my point

quote:Oh I see what your saying now...im not looking it up so I may look totally dumb, but were any of those teams doing as well as we are this season? That's kind of my point. you should be horrible in that case. just at first glance I don't think those teams were successful but I may be wrong.

wow just looked it up every one of those teams finished dead last in the division...we are in play for a #1 seed...even more impressive. we aren't getting it but gonna win the division. COTY material

To say that this is more impressive than Shannahan last season, just because it’s more players, is ridiculous.
The quality of the player that is out far surpasses the quantity. The 49ers in 2020 were absolutely hammered and far worse off than the Titans in 2021

Stat: Ravens have 22 players on IR and had 81 starts missed because of injury. Titans have 18 players on IR and 37 starts missed because of injury. Yeah, the Titans have had bad luck with injuries this year but it's nothing compared to what the Ravens have had to endure.

If Belichick gets the #1 seed with a rookie QB, he might be the guy

Kliff Kingsbury will be in the mix as well

Came to say this. He kept the train rolling with Colt McCoy of all people.

well they had their star player until now, we lost ours half a season ago. but point taken.

He's been good, but Bill and Kingsbury both have solid arguments as well.

Because beautiful Kliff has the best record despite the cog that makes the gears turn also missing major time.

Yeah Kliff has built a freaking monster in Arizona gotta give him the props. I was a kyler Murray doubter out of college and was dead wrong. Kliff is for sure a top candidate
