Hire better refs who aren't conned so easily or train the ones they have.

This. And give 1 free throw + the ball to the non-flopping team.

2 min powerplay.

Seriously, make it a equal to a shooting foul and if it is blatant deception (very egregious) T em up

Fix it in the NBA first.

I didn't notice flopping nearly as much this year as I had in the past. In the SEC Tournament, it wasn't an issue at all.

How do you determine that? Stop the game and review every time there's a possible flop?

As far as the NBA goes, the league should retroactively give a technical each time someone flops. If you want people to quit flopping, threaten their ability to play in games, as players get suspended when they hit a certain amount of technicals on the season.

I was about to say the same thing.

It really hasn't been that bad. May have to do with the adjustment to the emphasis on the touch foul on the perimeter maybe. I dunno.

Teach the refs to call all the other fouls and walking calls, corral the coaches, and replace the rims with peach baskets. Flopping will fade away into the night. Won't even notice.

other than the peach baskets, this is the correct answer.

You have to make it possible for the defensive player to draw an offensive foul without going to the ground. They all go to the ground at the slightest contact because they get called for a block if they don't. There's little upside to staying on your feet.

Also, start calling technicals for egregious flops. Don't just let the play go on.

T em up

This is the right answer. When I was younger (90's), it was a technical foul. Somewhere along the way, that call was dropped, bc it was being over called.

This brought about another problem as well. Some coaches with inferior athletes taught kids to run under players to draw the charge. People got hurt, bc of this including myself (career ending).
Flopping and other plays like the one I described should result in a technical foul. If done a second time, the player should be tossed from the game. It will clean itself up in less than a month.
