Saban was DC and Belicick was HC from 91-95. This was the old Browns before the move to Baltimore, not the current Browns organization. The record was 36-44.

Browns were about to become a power under them.

I'm sure they're better coaches than they were 25 years ago.

ETA: They improved every year until Saban left after the 1994 season. Belichick probably would have had them more consistently 11-5 than 5-11, given time.

It's simply unprecedented how fricking awful that organization is and has been. It's literally where coaches & players go to die and never be heard from again. Not even Tom Brady could fix that offense.

The move to Baltimore and Art Modell undermined all that they were building. You want a true assessment of what they were building? Look at the Ravens success when they first moved to Baltimore

In college, you get 25 first round picks every year at Bama. In 2 years, more than 1/2 the team is your guys.

In NFL, roster turnover takes awhile. Only 7 draft choices, maybe adding a free agent of significance or 2 per year, and catching some UDFA to round out a roster.

Both men were relatively early in their careers there. I think each of them probably learned a great deal over the next decade.

Same reason they suck now. Owners are micromanagers and won't let go of the steering wheel.

Remember, the Jets thought that Belichick would take over when Parcells stepped down. Belichick wanted the Pats job, which I didn't understand at the time. Turns out that he made the right choice...Kraft is an excellent owner.

Yep. He lets the coaches and managers make the decisions. Something the Cowboys, Redskins, Browns, and Raiders owners could learn from.

What proof do you have that they were cheating?
