I imagine that uncovered receiver for the CFL team is going to narrow the gap

I think CFL teams would beat any college team simply due to experience and the fact that the CFL players were still good college players, have more practice time together, are generally stronger due to age and position players are further developed in pros.

NFL teams > CFL teams > NCAA football.

This isn't rocket science.

I've had season tickets for 7 years for the CFL and watch college football every Saturday. I'm so-so on the NFL.

An NFL team would absolutely torch a CFL team even if they played by Canadian rules.

A CFL team would destroy an NCAA team. The difference is grown men vs boys. The majority of NCAA quarterbacks are not good enough to make the throws required in the CFL.

This being said the CFL has better rules than the NFL Some of the players in the NFL would be so much fun to watch with an extra 15 yards of field to play with.

Not quite, there is 7 starters that have to be Canadian on the offence and defence combined. Usually 4 O-linemen, 2 Slotbacks and a Free Safety or a DT. Quarterbacks do not count against the limit either

I enjoy the CFL, but I have to admit that I like American rules better mainly because it's what I'm most familiar with. I don't like the three downs in the CFL.

Saban can barely even keep up with spread offenses in NCAA.

How the hell is he going to stop the pass happy offense in CFL?

Three downs takes some getting used to, same with the rougue. I'm a big fan of the clock and return rules though.

if you took the worst CFL team and had them play NCAA rules against an Alabama at Alabama, I don't care how "grown up" the CFL players are, Bama is more talented and has more NFL caliber players

I basically agree. 2011 LSU had 19 NFL draft picks play in the Alabama game. Bama had 23 play. Either of those rosters have more talent than any CFL roster. I'm not sure how much "grown-man" strength makes up for the talent gap.

This is coming from a guy who thinks that 2001 Miami would get beat by 60 by the Jaguars or Texans.
