We certainly have nothing like The Ticket.

790, I like Matt Thomas but the rest sucks. I enjoyed the old Koch and Kalu show.

610 is sucky even when not going all Texans radio.

97.5 Is far and away the best but has gone downhill. John and Lance are still the gold standard and even better now that Del is back. I miss Charlie but enjoy Gallant. I liked Michael Conner in short stints on 790 but him and Beard aren't doing it for me yet. The Killer B's suck arse. Blank sucked with Barry Laminack who apparently has a Thursday night show. Aside from being a raging lib on X I like Creighton.

I miss Fred and AJ, I miss Asman and crew too. I really miss the old Sean and John show from old school 1560.

Do big city sports radio stations talk anything other than their NFL team, or perhaps a little NBA or MLB, depending on the season?
Like any college sports at all?

Same, Fred and AJ were by far my favorite. I do enjoy John and Lance too. I haven't been able to get into any of the others.

Not much college sports talk at all here. Houston is a pro sports town and it's all about the local teams except for weekends when it's ESPN's hosts and for whatever reason, it seems to mostly be NBA talk (even in the offseason) which I have zero interest in.

I was a huge fan of the Ticket (Dallas) as they discuss college and pro sports and not just the local teams all the time although they are the major focus. Poor management from ownership has led to numerous departures from many of their best on air personalities, so I don't listen as much as I used to.

It’s pretty impressive during basketball season he doesn’t skip a beat on his shows broadcasting from wherever the Rockets are on the road while he’s doing the PxP for radio

This is probably true, but still a huge downgrade from what it was just five years ago. In fact, I rarely listen now where back then I used to listen in my truck while eating lunch and during my afternoon commute back home almost every day. Especially Fred and AJ. They were really good.
