I would not watch a game next year. The things the front office have done the last 5 years or so I am scared for this offseason. It will either be GREAT and we can add a player or two to make us a 3-4 seed or they can frick up on a trade. I am just pulling this out my arse and I PRAY and hope that this never happens. This is pointless I was just curious if im the only one scared about this?

THe hornets are in trouble salary cap wise. Thornton gives them an extremely cheap guy that is worth way more then they are paying him. I'm sure they will see his contract through.

I just would like them to say who is safe and who is not. If MT is not on the safe list im done with the hornets.

P.S. I know they would never give a list of players safe and players that could be on the move just saying.

I know. If you can say you feel that MT is safe with the way our front office is then I do not belive you.

You are bitching about what the home office has done with the hornets in new orleans? Imagine if you were a fan of theirs when they were in Charlotte. They went from the top attendance in the league to getting run out of town for a very good reason. lol.

The only reason they've been trading people is to get under the salary cap, Marcus has little impact on that. The only person on the team less likely to be traded than Marcus is CP3. Marcus is about as cheap as NBA players get and the only other player at his position is old, overpaid, and somebody they desperately want to get rid off.

in 2002 they moved to NOLA. I was 13. So as far back as I watched basketball they have been here. As far back as i can remember they have been making dumb front office deals.

8 or 9 years maybe? I was in North Carolina up until I moved to La. my 10th grade year of High School. So I was a Hornets fan. God Awful management. Their strategy was get a good player and when he started peaking trade him for someone that wasn't as good. They drafted Kobe Bryant with the 8th pick one year when he said he wouldn't play for them...... so they traded him for Vlade Divac....who then considered retirement. lol.

Yeah, they had awesome home crowds back in the day. It must have been fun to watch one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA. Mourning, LJ, Musgsy...

And then Shinn traded Mourning and LJ. They became a team centered around Glenn Rice, who was great but just one wing player. Then they traded Rice for Eddie Jones. It was a steady downgrade. The fans were pissed because their favorite players were given away just as they became great.

The NO equivalent would be Shinn trading Paul for Rudy Gay and when Gay peaks, trading him for Luol Deng. Then Collison would lead them to within a game of the WCF and the team would move to Seattle a year later.

Lucky for NO, the FO seems to have made some good moves since the Okafor trade.

I moved to S. florida back in 02. When the Heat got Shaq I just decided to become a Heat fan. The hornets franchise had just worn me out by then, even the move to New Orleans couldn't keep me interested. I will say I'm surprised CP3 is still on the team. His rookie year when it was obvious what a stud he was the first thing I thought was they are going to trade him for Gary Payton or some shite.

The Hornets front office isn't nearly as bad as makign it out to be. Peja even when signed and he was good everyone knew it was too much..but the hornets had to have somebody they could bank on. And without Peja we don't make that run a few years ago.
They drafted quality guys..just the old coach wouldn'tp lay them.sure they had a few reach bust...but they succeeded more than failed when it comes to draft.
Posey was a retarded signing...and thats where our front office tends to show its one weakness...big contracts to wrong people. They are really good at getting cheaper/young players that work. I think they learned their lesson on over paying now.

They have made "BETTER" decisions post anything they did before giving Baron Davis away for nothing. They gave Peja a contract that is impossible for us to move though. When is that thing going to be over?? lol

not quite. where the Hornets fricked up big time initially was giving LJ a 12 yr/ 84 mil contract extension (you read that right, 12 yrs) when he wasn't even about to become a FA. so then the time comes to pay Zo a couple yrs later and they couldn't afford both. that set a lotta stuff in motion that got fans pissed at em. I was still young in understanding the front ofc side of the NBA, but I knew that LJ deal was dumb even back then.

though I will say that the moves they made post LJ and Zo were generally good and kept the team in the playoffs. Kobe wasn't gonna play for em, so getting a good C in Divac for the 13th pick wasn't a bad move. somebody mentioned the Rice trade, but that wasn't just Eddie Jones (who was a young All Star at the time), it also got a Elden, who was still around a 15/10 guy.

Some of the worst deals, like Posey, were done with the assumption that the Hornets were near contention, which they might still be if Chandler hadn't gone lame. I think the FO realizes it's mistakes and that it's in quick rebuilding mode which is why they picked NBA ready guys like DC and MT.

Thornton will not be traded unless it is part of a package that returns both starting talent and salary dumping. And even that is unlikely because DC is probably the first to be packaged like that if it happens at all.

BTW, this is not a vote of confidence in the FO, I just think they've learned enough to stop being head smackingly stupid.
