Really? MoPete? Have you not watched since Scott got fired? DTDB got 30 last night

DTDB that got traded last week then untraded? I know he is playing well, which is all the more reason he probably wont be around much longer. He could help a contender and potentially bring back a lottery protected first (and shed $1mm in salary and $1mm in tax payments). I am afraid the Hornets are stuck with MoPete for the long haul.

well I dont really believe CP3 will be traded at all and I certainly dont believe it would be this season.

There will be a flurry of trades in the upcoming weeks, no doubt about it. I could see DWest being moved and it is clear that the Hornets would still like to shed payroll. To the Knicks Peja could actually be useful off the bench and also as an expiring deal to use as a trade chip during next season. So in context, Peja's contract is not a poison pill to every NBA team.

However I am afraid that the Posey deal and the MoPete deal are poison pills to every NBA team and they are untradeable.

Tyrus Thomas and Jerome James for Al Harrington may get done now that Thomas is playing again but someone else could slip in and make the Bulls a better offer. The same Thomas/James for DWest deal works for both teams and the Hornets could shed 6mm in payroll (James) make a qualifying offer in RFA to Thomas of 6mm and watch him walk. Thomas re-signs for the RFA offer and they save 3mm off of DWest's (27mm/3yr) deal. If Thomas walks then the Hornets clip $12mm off their 2010/2011 cap and have some breathing room.
