Hope Solo Suspended 6 Months...what did she do that was so wrong??

So she called the Swedes cowards in a post game press conference...who the hell cares?? I'm sorry, I know she's a crazy bitch, but I just don't get why everyone was so upset. Something like this is said a dozen times in an NFL season and nobody blinks an eye. This and Ryan Lochte getting robbed are the two most overblown sports stories I've seen in years.

That's kind of my point..,this chick has had legitametly suspend worthy incidents in her past (her earlier 30 day suspension was a joke), but now it all come crashing down...bizarre. It seems they covered for her when they needed her for world cups and Olympics...now she's expendable.

Calling your family names ain't the same as calling non family names. Most adults know this. American Olympians have the shortest leash of any athlete. By both America and the international association. Most know this also.

Yet we overwhelmingly fund the IOC by our massive rights fees and train half the worlds Olympians in American universities....hmmm...seems something is a bit amiss in this logic.
Lochte lost a million dollars in endorsements, was extorted and robbed by Brazillians, is an international punchline, and will probably be kicked out of USA swimming...if this is light, I don't want to see harsh punishment.

I've always noticed that you can't speak out in American soccer like you can in the NBA, NFL, NHL...but those are mostly domestic sports.
Maybe because it's an international sport and it's politics and we care what others think way too much and we have become pussies to fit in with the international game.
