Each shot is a different event. The odds never change.

His wording is a little weird but he is right

Somebody who takes 1000 shots is much more likely to have a hole in one than somebody who takes 100. I guess yall's point is each shot doesn't have a higher and higher chance of going in.

Had two guys at my club make albatross on par 5 on back to back shots. Something like 27M to 1 odds.

Sorry, the answer we were looking for was infinity plus infinity.

Funny...kind of like sinking a 60' putt to save a triple-bogey, which I did last week. My brother drained a tee-shot on a Par 3 once, on a 190 yd hole, with a 4 iron (the carry over water was about 180 yds)...unfortunately, it was for a 5!

Yeah, there was roughly 5 years in between the two. I was in high school for the first one, college for the second. The first one was the ace for par. The second time it happened, my buddy looks at me and says "Well, at least this one counts."

I find it hard to believe that tour players are making a hole in one every 167 rounds of golf. They are playing around 6-7 rounds a week. So about twice a year at that pace. That just seems pretty difficult to get that lucky

It's so not just luck for them.
They put that stupid white ball next to the pin all of the time.
Spin it back, work the slope, etc.

Yeah, for it to actually go in.... Ok, luckier than other shots. But such a better chance than us.
