They also hate getting their arse whipped by a team of all white guys, some of the nasiest racist shite I've heard was after we would go in and beat an all black team, we won 27 games and had to be police escorted out of 9 gyms.

What I read was my child is not good enough at their respective sport, nor is her team. I blame the blacks.

P.S. Badman, you will always see your child in rose tinted glasses, everyone else will just see no one in particular. C'est la vie.

They give the coaches a card before each game that he has to turn into the association.

Mac Chauvin retired

The LHSAA officials state wide are undergoing a major management change

A lot of the guys that suck won't be around much longer

They are making it harder to pass the test, they are ramping up training requirements and 8 of the 13 assignment secretaries for basketball were replaced going into this year

As Reffs get washed out they will be replaced. If they can't be replaced then you will see more of what we have now. We went to HS games on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Saturday to break the concentration of games up from the typical Tuesday and Friday schedule to allow the better Reffs to work HS more nights

FWIW, my child is not great, but she is no slouch either. Starts for a very good AAU team in the summer.

If she was any good, she wouldn't be on the all white team.

I reff HS as well and I can tell you from many conversations with other officials both black and white the priorities are:

Get through the game without incident
Get through the game without getting hurt
Get paid
Go home

Believe it or not refs with character don't really care who wins or loses

If they don't have character they won't be able to hide it and they will wash out

MOST INTELLIGENT POST TO DATE!

Well I'm glad they realize these changes need to be made and are making them.

I'm not making this shite up, I've discussed this stuff with the principal, who referees for the Big 12, and has reffed an NCAA Tournament.

Also, while you're a little situation:

Team A shoots the ball on the right hand side of the goal, Player from Team B jumps and slaps the backboard on the opposite side not trying to make a play on the ball, what's the call?

By rule the defense slapping the backboard without making a play on the ball is a technical foul

That's the assumption I was under, but in the handful of times I've seen the past couple of years, it never gets the call.

I know the feeling very well, actually their own fans sometimes turn on them and they get even more mad.

It is amazing how many guys in the Baton Rouge Association that were Certified officials last year could not pass the test this year and are now registered officials. I think this is one of the best things that the LHSAA and LHSOA has done to date.

If the back board shakes and causes the shot to miss the easy call to make would be to just call it defensive basket interference and count the bucket.

but by rule it is a technical foul

Why are they slapping the back board opposite the ball? I have never seen that before

a lot of guys used the online testing procedure to cheat and get a defacto raise by improving their ratings from registered or approved to certified

this year they continued online testing but at LHSAA monitored sites so a lot of guys mysteriously dropped in rating. I think it is great

We have had 5 guys that I can think of quit this year because they weren't getting assignments. The reason they weren't getting assignments is because they suck and had no hope to get better.
