You serious? You're obviously a Mamou homer. It wasn't the Many coach's decision to stop the game at any point once it started.

I graduated from there but the game has ZERO relevance to me and i'm not involved with the school in any way. Let me guess, the umpire didn't see the tarp or him and the HC weren't on the same page? i think y'all are being very unrealistic.

Everything was there to prevent the field from being a slop/so it could continue later..... and the Umpire decided not to take the approach.

that's equal to having the best rain gear in your bass boat while fishing a tournament and ending your day 2 hours early because you're wet. No1 would do that, you protect yourself and continue to fish then take it off after.

I dont think you understand....the game was official after 5 innings were complete. You may need to read the rules

Where do the umps come from in the playoffs? Is it like football where they're sent from out of the region?

they didn't call timeout but it was mentioned by 1st base catch while they were batting and it was coming down and he wouldn't even acknowledge the man was talking

A smart coach would have called time to directly speak with the umpire and kept commenting loudly about the rain BEFORE the game was official. Any decent coach knows this kind of game management technique. Put more pressure on the umpire to make the decision.

. If weather or darkness interferes with play so that the game is called (ended) by the
umpire, it is a regulation game:

a. if five full innings have been played, or if the home team has scored an equal or greater
number of runs in four or four and a fraction turns at bat than the visiting team has scored in
five turns at bat; or

b. if play has gone beyond five full innings.

Where did you quote this from?

quote:

number of runs in four or four and a fraction turns at bat than the visiting team has scored in
five turns at bat; or

That would mean a regulation game ends in a tie?

Ah! And the LHSAA Handbook specifies how a shortened game ending in a tie is handled. I was wondering where that was addressed.

If it was a lightning delay, hey could have just waited it out, not tarping the field was obviously on purpose.

Much whining about pitcher being called numerous times for crow hopping

They need to look at that rule... it doesn't seem to be a problem when I see an LSU game on, and I don't like officials of any sport getting nitpicky at the HS level when I struggle to think of a real advantage gained...

I used to watch a few softball games when I was in HS and don't remember any "crowhopping" calls.
