I'm not questioning his physique. I'm questioning his ability to withstand the punishment (sprinting and cutting and getting tackled by +250 DLs and LBs). I have trouble believing his joints and brain could hold up.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

I think he could give you about 10 rushes, spread out over the course of a game.

If he could play he would be playing and that is the bottom line!

He wasn't that good in Tecmo Bowl.

I am not going to doubt Herschel Walker's ability to do anything. He could be a LB or FB in his current shape and give you 15-20 plays a game.

Someone that big should not be that fast.

As big and fast as Leonard Fournette is as the #1 recruit in the country, Herschel was bigger, faster, and stronger.

That is just baffling.

Plus Walker got like 30 carries a game at UGA..... A beast...................

Barry Sanders may have been more exciting to watch but the BEST overall running back at the college level in HISTORY is Walker.......

Anyone else remember Jim Brown pulling this same stunt about 25 years ago or so?

I remember SI even came out with him in a Raiders uniform on the cover.

Would he be getting the same amount of snaps now as he did then?

That is the point

Even nearly 20 years ago he wasn't good enough to get carries

Why would he now?

Did we all just collectively forget how bad and over the hill he looked playing in the nfl almost TWENTY years ago?

I don't care how many beefcake pics y'all post, the dude can't play anymore and he was totally done when he retired.

With Herschel Walker it is all about the mental desire. I think he was done mentally with the game when he retired. If he really put his mind back into it, then yeah He could probably still get around the field.

To answer someone else's question, yes, HW was one of hell of a speedy beast in HS. I am pretty sure he set state HS records in track, but I would have to go back and check.

To a degree. But we're talking about a 52 year old man trying to come back to the most punishing position in the NFL. He would blow a knee (or two) and get numerous concussions.

Knees and hips age and there is little you can do.

You can bulk up to take abuse but your knees and hips and their ligaments age.
