That area produces the best football players in the country and has for decades. When they've got a good recruiter in charge with a lick of coaching ability, Miami tends to beat the shite out of most everyone.

I for one am not thrilled with this hire. I enjoyed watching "da U" revel in mediocrity. Those days are swiftly coming to an end my friends. When the fence goes up around south Florida, and it will, it's going to be hurricane season. Doesn't matter if 8 or 80,000 people show up to watch them play. When they start signing all the kids from Carroll City, Ft. Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, and Muck City they're going to start beating the shite out of everyone in the ACC. All Miami needs is a good salesman, the jimmies and the joes are enough down there to take care of the rest. The University of Miami owes Mcgarrity some hookers and Blow

Yeah people think it's the facilities and the fact that 75 people go to their games but nobody's beating down the door for Coker, Shannon, and Golden.

They still have a long way to go before they are back to being a respectable program. Richt is a great hire but it may very well be too little too late.

It takes one class to start a dynasty.

Source: Bama 2008

Granted Miami isn't Alabama, but when Richt manages to keep the majority of the south Florida kids at home, they're back. It won't take as long as you think

The kids from Carroll city aren't cut from the same cloth as the kids from Gwinnett and Marietta.

Time will tell. All you have to worry about is Richt losing two to three games a year that he shouldn't.

Yes they are. They're a product of their environment, like Brazilian soccer players. Kids in the muck catch swamp rabbits with their bare hands so they can have dinner. That's a little different than Katy and Rancho Cucamongo.

I'm personally excited about it. FSU-Miami Rivalry is one of the best in football and it's about time they both have coaches who can give the rivalry the national appeal it used to have.

Not me. Alabama, hell lsu too, has cherry picked that region for years now. That just got a whole lot harder. When the Petersons and Cooper's and Ridleys and Cooks and Taylor's and Holmes start playing together...that's a problem for everyone

Pussies. Real football players chase rabbits through cane fields in The Muck for their dinner.

The state of Miami recruiting myth lives on I see. There are 3 players in the 2016 top 247 from the state of Miami area. 4 from 2017. Miami is not coming back with a vengeance. UCF, UF, USF, Bama, FSU , LSU, OSu have taken the best players and most kids have never seen Miami be relevant. You're dreaming.

Found this on a canes board. Only one coach kept Miami players in Miami, Butch.
