Understatement of the year here.

Russell Wilson is a top 10 QB in the league...this thread is dumb.

Once a nega-Wilson begins typing, he or she loses any semblance of intelligence.

I am implying that he is getting the credit for this run. And I am referring to the media fondling his nuts. Sure, no one is coming out and calling him the GOAT but for him to get the amount of credit he gets is ludicrous. He is an above average QB who is on a very well coached and talented team.

Including the playoffs, the Seahawks are 42-13 with Wilson under center. That's more wins than any other quarterback in NFL history through his first three seasons. No matter how good your running game is, no matter how good your defense is, you simply don't win 77% of your games without a good quarterback.
While you Wilson bashers are busy pinpointing his statistics as lackluster in comparison to the bigger names that sling the rock 30+ times each game, consider the fact no quarterback that has led the league in passing in a single season gone on to win the Super Bowl.
Russell Wilson is a threat whichever way you look at it. Consider his 98.6 passer rating in his young career. He needs just 248 more pass attempts (1,500 total) before he is eligible to be listed among the greats. His passer rating will gradually decrease as his career continues forth. However, it is completely realistic to assume that halfway through next season, Wilson could conceivably have the second highest passer rating of all-time. Also consider his 2.76 touchdown passes for every interception thrown. Pretty good number.
Ah, yes, there's also his legs. Not only did he lead all NFL quarterbacks in rush yards this season, but he also has a career average of over six yards per carry. There are not many quarterbacks that find space with their legs like Wilson.
Every statistic points to Wilson being a good quarterback. If you want to argue whether he is elite, sure, go for it. It's asinine to even consider him a step below a good quarterback, though.

You could plug in any of the Top 15 starting QB's in the NFL (he isnt one of them) and they'd do just as good or better.
Go.

His performance yesterday was the single-worst playoff performance I have ever seen by a quarterback.
Two interceptions were his fault. The other two went straight off his receivers hands. No one will argue that the first 55 minutes weren't his finest minutes of football. However, he didn't curl up like a bitch. He does what a good quarterback does: respond when things aren't going his way. He made some incredible plays down the stretch. The immediate two that come to mind are the 3rd and 19 conversion in the fourth quarter and the 3rd and 6 conversion in overtime that led to his beautiful pass to Jermaine Kearse to win the game.

Were you taking a nap during the Pats/Colts game?

Can't it be somewhere in the middle?
I won't say he is as great as the numbers suggest but I also won't say any bum could go in there and have the same success.
He is in a golden situation though.
His team normally has the lead, has a strong run game, and he almost never gets touched....all three of those things lend themselves to WRs running open at some point.
Any QB worth a shite can thrive in that situation.
Just a hunch, but if Wilson were drafted by the Jaguars....he would be running for his life and the Jags would be looking to draft Martiota this coming draft.

True.

Russell Wilson vs. Green Bay
14/29 (48.2%), 209 yards (7.2 average), 2 TDs (1 rushing), 4 INTs, 44.3 QB Rating, 25 yards rushing

Exactly why I say hes an above average QB in a great spot. I just cant stand to listen to the media treat him like hes Montana.

So going into yesterday he has 11 touchdowns to 1 interception.
Impressive

He's a damn good QB with a great D and run game. You act like no one knows about the D and run game.

You want a game manager, who does just enough to get by and gets bailed out by Beastmode And the defense...gotcha

All ive heard over the last 2 hours all over talk radio is how awesome Russell Wilson is and how great of a crunch time QB he is. That team got gifted a game yesterday and if anyone deserved credit for it then the defense should for stopping GB at the goal line the first two trips.
ETA: This is just another example of the media either giving too much credit to the QB or too much blame.

Wilson is the new Kap over here.
Posted on 1/19/15 at 12:06 pm to lsuhunt555
In Seattle's system, Wilson is about as good of a QB you can ask for. He's a proven leader and makes plays when he needs to. His stats are also pretty impressive for the playoffs. He also plays with the worst receiving corps, sans Carolina, of the teams that made the playoffs.
It's tough to choose, but I would say Wilson, not Lynch, is the most irreplaceable player on that team.

I'm not a Seahawks fan at all...but the most important thing on that list is W-L of 6-1.

Well he did step up bit in crunch time.
