He can't shut him down, but he can certainly defend him better than almost anyone in the league.

You can bet your arse that Durant would rather see anyone else guarding him before LeBron.

Wade is at his best when he is relentlessly attacking the basket and he wasn't there tonight. A lot of settling for jumpers which really isn't his strength, he needs rest.

KD averaged 31 a game against the Heat last year.

30 tonight on 11-21 shooting
28 in the first meeting this year on 11-20 shooting

Lebron can force him to make some mistakes, possibly slow him down. But shut him down? No.

Wade's durability is one of the only reservations I have in saying that the Heat will win it all.

Shut him down may have been exaggeration, but I used "when he needs to" for a reason. Lebron seems to save his energy on defense in some of these games until the 4th quarter, similar to last season's playoffs

eta: In key moments the past two seasons Lebron has forced Durant into turnovers, poor shots, and rejected him. He doesn't shut him down the whole game obviously

OKC kinda blew it a bit late with the Perkins missed FT's, turnovers, and the Durant air-ball 3 (did it graze rim?)

Game definitely turned with the Westbrook flagrant though. It woke Miami up.

Wade already starting to fall off drives home just how impressive Kobe's longevity has been.

I don't think the Heat will win it all.

However, it has more to do with Oklahoma City now, as opposed to Chicago.

I still think if Chicago is healthy they'd beat Miami, but I'm more confident in OKC beating Miami at this point.

Ibaka and Harden not having big games like they did in the first game of the series is what hurt the Thunder. In the 1st game, KD was more willing to distribute the ball to every other guy on the court and he nearly got a triple double in the blowout win.

That being said, I LOVE the Thunder's chances against the Heat in a best of 7. Sure hope it happens.

Yeah.

Wade's style has a lot more to do with it. He's basketball's Nadal.

The transformation of Kobe's game over the years is the most impressive thing about him. I hate Kobe, but his development as a bball player is incredible.

I think a Heat/Thunder series favors the Heat, but home-court will be huge.

I'm more confident in Miami getting out of the East than I am in OKC getting out of the West. There's a team in San Antonio that has done this shite a few times and the evil genius they have on the sidelines is resting the shite out of their best players.

Did you watch the game? Alot of Durant's points came on fast breaks when the heats defense didn't have time to set up or when westbrook or harden would penetrate, cause the defense to rotate and free up durant for an open jumper. Whenever it was straight up lebron vs durant in the halfcourt lebron won almost every time

Thing is that I don't think Chicago is ever gonna be fully healthy again this season.

The injuries for them are taking their toll now.

Aren't you more likely to have a longer career when you have a good jump shot in your game?

Posted by TulaneTigerFan Am I the only person who thinks that Wade is already starting to decline pretty sharply? He's had dead legs a lot the past two seasons, including the first few rounds of last year's playoffs. There was some question over whether he'd play tonight or get another game off to rest his legs

I was saying this exact thing tonight. Wade looks like he has mailed it in He hasn't looked "great" all season long and it looks like he has lost his explosiveness. IMO. He struggles to getting his own shot and I'm not sure e hasn't lost a little bit of passion that he used to play with.

Maybe I'm just being critical. I think Bosh's lackadaisical attitude is rubbing off on him. Lol

Home-field is extremely important.

I'd say it's pretty even.

You can't guarantee San Antonio will even make it to the conference finals. Although, I think they will.

Regardless of who wins Lebron vs. Durant, that won't be the deciding factor in who wins a Finals between the 2 teams.

The biggest thing tonight was that Miami was hitting a bunch of 3's, way more than they usually hit.

I think OKC's Big 3 in Harden, Westbrook, and Durant would beat Miami's Big 3 in a series.

And Miami has a huge problem: They need to get Chris Bosh right. There's something REALLY wrong with him. Bosh playing as well as he did against Chicago won the Heat that series.

If hes not on, Chicago (and MAYBE Boston) definitely has a good shot to beat the Heat in the playoffs.
