This wasn't my argument FWIW. I was curious why OSU doesn't challenge themselves when they are capable of beating top 5 teams. It takes away from the fans IMO.

Washington State, Texas, USC, California, Miami FL, Va Tech, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, TCU etc.

Well the Va Tech series was scheduled a long time ago when they were a perennial top 10. They are scheduling at least 1 top OOC team every year.

But it certainly doesn't mean as much for MSU as it does for LSU. Thats not debatable.

I ran into a group of SEC fans this week that swear their teams were so beat up from the regular season that they couldn't muster the energy to compete on New Year's or in the playoff. And they were serious. It didn't even merit a response. Even if it were the case, all teams got a month off. If anything, tOSU was beat up more than any team going into the playoff.

Bama also had a month to prepare, but I guess that doesn't matter. Then tOSU had 8 days to prepare for Oregon, also apparently a moot point.

Not sure how you can say that. Ohio State won the championship with their 3rd string QB. Not sure what else could realistically go wrong that didn't for Ohio State.
The whole SEC teams have to run the gauntlet and are more tired, beat up, and worn out because of it is a tired argument and refuted on 1/1/15.
