the guy was a career long wide receivers coach. Fires the OC as an interim coach. Made a lot of off the wall comments early but here they are undefeated playing for a nc. Tigerdroppings would crash if we hired a coordinator with dabos resume much less as a hc.

Dabo is an excellent man and is actually pretty x and o savvy, much more than he gets credit for. The players love the guy and would go to war for him, plus he's a lights out recruiter. I've had the pleasure of meeting him on more than one ocassion and cannot speak highly enough of his character.

It's pretty unreal honestly. To do it in a smallish state like South Carolina too.

I imagine that they will be a perennial contender as long as he is there. Venables seems more than happy there and Jeff Scott is an outstanding recruiter as well. These guys have had talent like this for years, just not the staff to utilize the talents. Tommy Bowden squandered TONS of talent at Clemson during his tenure and Dabo and co are bringing that to light. Clemson is a sleeping giant, and any recruit that visits will definitely be impressed.

Despite his success, mainly based on what OP said and his kind of village idiot persona, I cannot believe there has been consideration about giving him the keys to the kingdom at Bama in the future.

Guy I know played with Dabo. When he was first hired, Dabo asked him to be recruiting coordinator in AL. He declined because of his small kids. I am sure he regrets it now.

What about Cheesedick at Auburn? Losing coach at Iowa State. Wheels came off quickly but he won a crystal.

I remember thinking at the time his interim tag was removed how stupid it was to fire a coach for poor on-field performance only to simply give the job to someone from his staff. Not to mention the fact that Dabo was a position coach and not a coordinator.

Regardless, it definitely worked out and was a great move in hindsight by Clemson.

That's pretty dumb outside of the kids part. Play your cards right in that situation and you get into college coaching and basically have a lifetime of being able to get jobs as a coach on some level no matter how good or bad you are.

When Tommy Bowden was pushed out the door he recommended to the AD that Dabo take over the team. Not the OC or the DC but the wide receivers coach. Fate is a funny thing.

Seems Weird but if miles retired tommorow and they hired our DLine coach, half the Rant would be fapping
