Has Golden State been getting away with this all year?

8 or so ridiculous screens

Curry tackling Mozgov

Does this just fall under the assumption that the refs can't call everything? There are plenty of other examples. Bogut gets called for MAYBE half the shite he does. Lebron sliding into Curry. Curry holding Delly. Missed travels and fouls on Lebron and others. I'm not even sure if I dislike this. It's more fun to watch when they let em play, just thought these screens by GS are getting out of hand.

And more importantly, is this part of why GS is struggling? It doesn't seem like GS is dealing with the all out grit and effort of this series so far. They're barely getting by while pulling this stuff, getting frustrated with Cleveland's defense, and screaming about fouls that they themselves obviously committed. Seems like most of their problems are between the ears right now, no?

And if they ever need to get really physical with Cleveland, it doesn't seem like they have much room to amp up the physicality.

Yes. They are dirty as frick. Draymond Green has a move where he purposely gets tangled on screens to make both players fall. And they never call a foul on him. It's either a foul on the other player or Curry/Thompson gets a wide open shot.

Typically, when a defender runs into a screen he doesn't see, no foul is called because the screener is set ready to take a hit because he knows he is blindsiding the player. Green actually goes down on purpose in these situations. It's infuriating.

The moving screens have been driving me insane this series

Yea, but half of those screens are plays every team in the league gets away with.

After watching these playoffs, Curry has reached the Reggie Miller level for me. He's a great, great shooter and talent but I'm not a fan of his.

I don't know man. They do a TON of that stuff. Them being a 3 point jump shooting team might highlight it more though.

Probably just looks worse because GS is a jump shooting team. I've seen screens like those from every team.

The double and triple screens they have been doing have been illegal as shite and they won't get away with it going forward. The refs were enjoying too much of the game to actually official.

Being on the west coast, I really haven't watched much of them until the playoffs. I really can't stand Bogut and Green now.

No doubt they do a bunch of it, but in that first video you posted half of those plays are almost never called.

Somebody on Clutchfans posted a TON of clips of holding and moving screens by GSW in the Rockets series.

Bogut is the worst offender as he blocks like an offensive lineman when he sets screens. Literally holds people and pushes them with his hands so shooters can get an open shot without a close-out.

Bogut also holds people's arms so that they are late closing out or rotating to challenge a shot at the basket or grab a rebound.

Draymond Green does the same stuff.

Even Curry when he sets screens will literally wrap up a player like he's hugging them. It's blatant cheating.

But the refs never call it because they are off-ball screens and the defensive players don't fall down.

It's like referees only call moving screens on the ball or off-ball moving screens if the defender falls on the floor.

They were certainly coached to do it because they all set blatant off-ball moving screens to get their shooters open.

What really blows my mind is Cle got called for the first illegal screen

My main point was that I've always viewed GS as this beautiful, finesse team who moves around the court with zero wasted motion. These dudes are grinding just as hard as Cleveland is! They just aren't as good at it and don't really have the mindset of a physical team. It's like they do those things out of desperation or something to mask shortcomings.

I've been wondering if or when the time comes if they'll scrap everything and get straight nasty out there. Dirty it up and try to beat up Cle in a last attempt to get back in the series(obviously assuming they get way down in game 4, they probably won't). But dammit, they already are doing that.

And I love how the perception of Deladova's game has changed. He's gone from being a possible dirty player to being the ultimate hustle player that never quits.

You can be both

He had a dirty play really early in game 3.

After watching about a minute of Lebron last nignt, I thought about the changes in the rules over the last fifty years. I expect over the next fifty years the flying wedge will be acceptable.

Watch Draymond Green on this play. They ended up calling this a double foul. L O L

LINK Draymond Green suddenly has the coordination of a two year-old on this play. How convenient.

I would love that move so much if Draymond played for my team though. He seriously takes a little contact on his right shoulder and falls down into Ariza as he goes around them. Smart basketball IQ play, and if it tricks the refs, good for him, I guess.

Exactly. I'm all for it, just not when I'm trying to root Lebron to a championship!

There are just times where I wish I could sit in on a rules committee meeting. There are some big things I would have for officials to watch. It's obvious they aren't told to look for certain things. And sometimes, they just stop using common sense.

If you are setting a screen, you lose the right to be touch fouled. That shouldn't even be a question.
