Has anyone ever doubled down harder on their own stupidity than LBJ haters?

Its quite remarkable really. I know not everyone has kept with the Lebron hate, but their is still a decent portion of fans that have, and better believe once the newness of this recent championship wears off, it'll start again. But a timeline-

Loses finals in Cleveland as a kid, sets up expectations for title but never gets one as a Cav. Despite no real help around him, and plenty success given what he has to work with, is mocked for not being a winner, having "heart", etc.

Leaves Cleveland for Miami. "Has to run off and form an all star team to win". "Shows he isn't a real competitor, no drive, Etc"

Loses to Dallas, has a poor series. The peak of Lebron haters. Can't even win with all the talent. Choke artist, not clutch.

Wins MVP and a finals MVP. Now the doubling down begins. "Yeah well it's just one title." "Yeah well he said he'd win seven at a pep rally". "Yeah but he played bad last year."

Back to back MVPs, titles, and finals MVPs. Doubling down becomes harder but fear not for the takes come in. "Ray Allen saved him" (ignores Lebron putting team on back entire fourth to bring them back in game 6, including a three the possession before Rays shot. And overtime, or the brilliant game 7 to clinch)

Loses back to back finals. "2-4 lol".

Down to warriors in finals. "Bout to be 2-5" "ultimate loser, always loses in finals"

This is where the doubling down becomes impossible but happens anyway. First player to come back from down 3-1 in an NBA finals. Not only that, does it against the best team to ever be beat in a finals. Think about that- it's the single most impressive comeback in finals history and most impressive series victory considering competition. He does that while being a complete monster in games 5-7, 2 on the road in the toughest road venue. First player to ever lead all players in ANY series of ANY length in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals. We've reached a textbook definition of what more could you ask of someone? And STILL, there's some takes like "Kyrie really should've been MVP". "Couldn't of win without Kyries scoring". "Kyrie is the closer". And while they couldn't have win without Kyrie, Lebron was hands down better. He had a game saving block as well. That argument is essentially saying "well Lebron couldn't beat one of the best teams ever without someone else playing well also."

I mean its the second time in his career, he's being belittled by some for not making every single play (Ray Allen and now kyries 3).

It's crazy. I've never seen anything like it when it comes to judging individual players.

TL, DR version- Lebron will never satisfy some, unless he goes 98-0 and gets every point, rebound, assist, steal, block each game. While also playing 48 minutes a night, and defending the other teams best player each night.

Most are Kobe fans that can't stand the fact that lebron has already passed Kobe in the nba hierarchy. It's hurts their souls. The others are just miserable

You can't blame them for piling on at 3-1 in that series, thinking he'd be 2-5 in finals. But, there isn't much to say anymore. That said, if someone believes he's not GOAT or top five all time, that isn't "hating." Let's say he makes another finals or two, but no more titles and piles up nice stats for about five years -- is that so much better than Kobe or Duncan? I think these are legitimate conversations/debates.

You might get some haters to show up in this thread. They are primarily not gonna show themselves until LeBron struggles, whether it's in the regular season, or the postseason. That right there alone tells me all I need to know.

Yes, read almost any Tiger Rant thread in the past 4.5 years about beating Alabama.

Kobe is one of the best examples of why you shouldn't use titles for determining who the best players are all time

I was not a LeBron fan after 2011 and had legit reasons why to dislike him, but the way he played this series actually made me happy for him when they won. Not a LeBron "fan" but not a hater either. I'm a fan of greatness in general and there's no denying he's great. Top 2 player ever.

he could retire tomorrow and he's already firmly ahead of Kobe. Likely Duncan too.

There's no legitimate basis to justify putting Kobe over Lebron at this point.

Career PPG, FG%, APG, RPG, PER all give an edge to Lebron for both regular season and playoffs. Lebron has better finals numbers, better "clutch" stats. More MVPs, more finals MVPs.

To argue Kobe is to bring in team accomplishments (titles- silly argument) or unjustifiable intangible buzz words like "heart", "winner", "killer instinct". Things that can't be measured at all. Because anything with quantifiable evidence points to Lebron.

Why do I have to like him?

I don't care if he scores 100 points a game. He was a tone-deaf jerk when he had a reality show about leaving Cleveland. He was a smug a-hole when he mocked Dirk Nowitzki for being sick. And he still couldn't restrain his narcissism when he rolled around on the floor and acted like someone amputated his arm in the final seconds of Game 7.

He's easily the best player of this generation.

But there are plenty of good reasons to not like the guy.

The same people that argue Kobe Bryant is better than LeBron James, are the same people that argue Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning. It simply isn't true.

That's my only question for Lebron dickriders, why can't people dislike a basketball player? It's more interesting to have a team or player in the league that you despise and can pull against

If you don't have him top 5 right now, you're either hating or just don't really know basketball that well.

You don't have to. But you do have to give him the credit he deserves, and if you do then this thread isn't directed at you.

Personally, I can't wrap my head around why a one hour TV special or an ill advised Mockery of a great player one time, would cause you to dislike the greatest player you've really ever seen (assuming you were too young to appreciate MJ). I just think if you're a fan of the game, there isn't much of a reason to dislike Lebron. He's never done anything that bad. Been in the national spotlight since sixteen and his biggest mess up was a one hour TV special, or an obviously exxagerated championship guarantee at a pep rally.

And it's funny- Lebron lays on the floor a bit- he's a whiny bitch. MJ carried off court after game- shows he's such a fighter and competitor.

I've been up and down with this dude since the beginning. When I first met my wife and moved to Cleveland, I was a HUGE critic. Always questioning his heart and toughness, then he won me over in the 2007 playoffs. Then of course I hated him after the decision. Then I think it was 2013 (2nd ring year) he kind of won me back in those finals. Then after the "coming home" of 14, I just had it in my mind that if he brings Cleveland just 1 ring before his soap opera is over, he's my #1 dude. I'm still kind of shocked that he made it happen, but the way he did it, should have caused a unanimous "shut the frick up and admit he's great", no matter if you love him or hate him.

But still, like clockwork, the world is filled with retards. I don't understand how anyone could have watched the series and had even just a minimal IQ, and still say shite like "Kyrie got robbed for that MVP," or "conspiracy!" But I do think he put a lot of doubters to rest, at least for the moment.

L ousy
B usted
J umpshot

Or

L il
B eeitch
J rama

Which one you like better? It's your game. And he played great :

I've always felt the LeBron hate is ridiculous but I've learned to just ignore those people because they aren't worth trying to change their minds.
