It worked out well for both clubs. The Marlins knew they weren't going to be able to keep Beckett long term. However the Red Sox won another WS while the Marlins havent been back to the playoffs.

Look at the Marlins 04 rotation.

1. Carl Pavano
2. Dontrelle Willis*
3. Josh Beckett
4. Brad Penny
5. A.J. Burnett

I watched hanley alot in double A in portland and was pissed when they traded him, but we got a legit #1 starter out of the deal and lowell had a good run with us. Besides maybe when hanley hits FA we can sign him if theo thinks its worth it.

Well, if Marlins fans show up to the games every now and then, maybe the front office wouldn't have such a hard time keeping some of their young talent.

The Sox did.....BIG TIME!! Hanley is AMAZING but they got at least one ring out of it and thats worth almost anything.

maybe if the stadium didnt suck so bad and the fans didn't have to deal with the humid summer south FLA heat there would be more fans at the games. The Marlins rank pretty high for tv viewers for their games, fans just don't want to spend the money to have an unpleasant time at a game.

cannot wait for the new stadium

If humidity is such a problem, how come Texas Rangers fans never have a problem supporting their team when they're winning?
