On the front of Yahoo it says ESPN pulls theme song after Obama slur

and then in the article it says

During a discussion on the 2012 presidential race, Williams began discussing Obama's golf outing with Speaker of the House John Boehner. He said it was a political mistake, on par with "Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu."

Yeah, it's a dumb thing to say but I think the word "slur" isn't generally used to describe what he said.

"slur"

1. A disparaging remark; an aspersion.

A comparison to Hitler would meet this definition.

Get Darius Rucker to do it. He's covered the song before.

Bill Maher got his show cancelled for suggesting the administration was like the nazi's after 9-11. By the end of his term yeah Bush was pretty much fair game but the 2 years after 9-11 he was untouchable, ask the Dixie chicks.

He said the Republican playing golf with Obama was like Hitler playing golf with the Jewish Prime Minister...as an analogy...

Enemies shouldn't be chummy. He even said, "that's the enemy" (Obama) and that probably would have been enough for the media mogul to pull it.

But he buried himself just saying the name Hitler.

Never fight a land war in Asia and never mention Hitler when discussing politics...unless you want to win an argument...then you say:

"That's interesting what you just said, it sounds like something Hitler would say."

The article reads as if they dropped him tonight...is this shite permanent??

I fricking hate ESPN btw...ever since they were bought by Disney they went uber-corporate and PC about every fricking thing. Its just not the same as it was in the late 80s and 90s....

That's Exactly why he got fired. Years later, He said something to the effect of " Some thing is definitely wrong in this country if the only person who's been fired over the 911 attacks is me."
