As a die hard fan, I don't know what to think of this. Thoughts?

Eh it's been such an up and down season. With our talent we really shouldn't be so streaky.

I think nobody really cares about hockey, much less the Habs.

Who gives a damn? If you want to talk about hockey move up North.

Hey, dumbass, this is the More Sports Board. Hockey is a sport. Here's a brilliant idea, don't want to talk about it DON'T CLICK ON THE THREAD. OMG, that's SO DIFFICULT!

Anyway, to answer the question, I think it was necessary. They've been struggling lately. Maybe they saw what the Pens have done since firing Therrien and hoping they'll have similar results with a change at the helm.

One other thing I thought was funny, was the article had basically nothing about the firing. It was only about Gainey's career. Didn't mention Carbonneau's record, when he was originally hired... nothing about him. They didn't even say he was fired, but rather "replaced" by Gainey. I know that that's from a Montreal site, but that seemed a little odd.

That difficult to go to NHL.com and look at the standings?

Just messing with ya. They're doing solid. They should make the playoffs based on where they are now. My guess is they'll finish 5th in the West.

Doesn't matter because the Capitals are taking home the cup this year anyway.

They have a decent shot. Would have been nice had they made a move at the deadline, but they can still get it done.

Didn't the Habs WIN last night? He's getting fired after a win? Odd.

Damn right the Canucks are playing solid...hopefully they can win a playoff series. It's been a while since we have made any postseason noise.
