Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden, who has served as an ESPN analyst on "Monday Night Football'' since his dismissal after the 2008 season, is strongly hinting he plans a return to the NFL sidelines.

Gruden vows

He reminds me of Lane Kiffin very egocentric, the type of guy that would come into a mediocre program and use them as a stepping stone to a much better job just like Lane did.

Agreed. I've never understood why every school with a vacancy wants Gruden. I've never seen anything from him to indicate he'd be a home-run college HC hire.

If Gruden is actually willing to coach college football, Dooley is fricked.

He has a little better than .500 coaching record. Why would anyone fear that?

I think Gruden would be an excellent recruiter....just depends if he likes the recruiting aspect of it.

Would love him in the SEC.

over .500 in 10 years as a NFL head coach, no way he could step up to the SEC.

It makes me feel better that other fanbases also have pie in the sky wishes for their coaches too.
