wondering what the secondary market is for a world series game, we wouldn't give a shite where the tickets are.

If the cubs are in it, I'd think it'll be a grand just to get in the building. It's always really expensive, without them...so, keep that in mind.

Heck, it might be more than a grand after looking at Stubhub...it's three grand for standing room for any of the Wrigley games. Prayers Sent!

I think it's crazy, because if Mazara would have thrown his hands up I believe Escobar would have tried to advance anyways (possible inside the park homerun, like what Cespedes allowed a while back) and Joe "Turkey Neck" West would have allowed that as well. As much as the Rangers got screwed over by the HP umpire and West, they pulled off the win anyway.

By the way, HP umpire was horrendous. Insane strike zone, no batter was immune.

yeah he was terrible for both teams. I thought Mike Scioscia was going to get tossed a couple times as well

That whole umpire crew last night was terrible (I was at the game). They wanted Beltre to hit in a rainstorm.

If we can have "tonight's first pitch brought to you by {corporate name}", last night it should have been "tonight's umpiring crew brought to you by Disneyland" (they were a real Mickey Mouse outfit and were giving the Angels most of the calls).

We were having this discussion today after that call last night: Has there ever been a ump/ref in any sport that has been as universally hated as Joe West? Also, what sort of blackmail did he have on Selig and has on Manfred to keep his job?

With the technology that MLB has to instantly call balls & strikes, baserunning out or safe and review situations like this, there is no longer a need for umps in the game, their time and traditions are old and outdated...

It was pretty awful.

He was calling strikes that were 6 inches to nearly a foot off the plate.
