I wish every player was like Kawhi Leonard, who I've never seen peacock. I wanted to drop kick Harrell from UL on multiple occasions this year.

Bad dude I guess? Have you ever seen the movie Friday? But I'm with the OP, he's gunna be Duke hate poster child for the next 2-3 years.

A white Dukie with a Last Name - First Name and a First Name - Last Name automatically earns him douchebag status.

You are on to something there. Grayson might be the douchiest name there is.

My new favorite Duke player. He plays hard and lays it all out on every play.

Grant Hill?

Why are so many in this thread intent on starting a race debate? People are egging it on, like they need their fix or something.

Exactly.

Hill and Battier and Boozer.

shite a lot of people hated Jay Williams.

It's way more of a Duke thing than anything else.

Sadly, that is prevalent on a lot of these boards.

So nobody hated Dahntay Jones, Shane Battier, or Sheldon Williams? Those are three of the most hated Dookies of all fricking time. Grant Hill?

Shelden was nowhere near one 'of the most hated dookies of all time.' Not even close. dahntay wasn't that well known at all. Battier was definitely polarizing as he was the leader of his Duke team

I'm a Duke fan but barely even remember that guy.

He was the first transfer I remember. Mostly a defensive guy, but put up big offensive numbers. Was a bit of an a-hole.

I have to be honest, this Grant Hill hate is blindsiding me. I know some black players hated him because he was a great player and well polished, but I can't recall many fans disliking the guy.

Grant Hill

The only hate that I know of is from the Fab 5 documentary, they were mad because he grew up in an affluent two-parent home.

That'd be pretty boring.

"Hate" in sports is good to a degree. We need something to root against otherwise what's the point?

People are questioning the Grant Hill hate in here. I think some suffer from confirmation bias. He was definitely hated. To the degree of a Christian Lattener? Hell no, but Hill was an otherwise likeable guy. Lattener was a jerk and didn't apologize for it, I think we can all agree on that.

Ulitmately, we have a need to tell ourselves it's something other than the guy is just plain better than the guys on my team. Fab 5 didn't hate Grant Hill because he was an Uncle tom or anything like that. That's a defense mechanism, they hated him because Hill was better than them. No one hates the guys that suck.

Why does Tom Brady get hate? Seriously, he does nothing wrong, at all, but people hate him, so they make up reasons. It's not real, we just hate them because they're good. If they're jerks, then that makes it easier.

The last thing grown men want to do is to say someone else is simply better than them, or some other team is just plain better than their team.

For my favorite team, not league wise, that would be boring.
