Hes really bad at football writing. He barely knows anything about the actual sport of football that hes been "covering" for like 20 years.
Its hilarious listen to Mile Lombardi have to explain those complex football terms "audible" and "cover 2"
I also hate when he says hot ROOT. "it was a really nice job by the QB to hot ROOT to a go route on that 3rd down play"

Barnwell wrote the column, Simmons writes the snarky footnotes. I don't know why anyone would expect actual football analysis out of him. He's honest about being just a fan, which is why he brings in guys like Barnwell and Lombardi to do the analysis.
