Dragic is playing almost the same minutes, but not only did all of his stats go up, but his efficiency went way up, too.

All of his stats didn't go up...His assists dropped by 1.5 while his TOs remained the same.

Usage up. Rebounds same. Steals/Blocks down. Assists/Assist % down. Turnovers slightly better (he turned it over less per possession).

Every single part of AD's game got better except his rebounding % stayed the same.

This isn't the Most Improved Transition from PG to Combo Guard Award. It's the Most Improved Player award.

ETA: AD lost this award with our record, injuries, and the pack mentality of the voters.

Deserving. Dragic was on another level this year.

Davis will get his eventually.

Yeah if Anthony Bennett starts playing at a all-star level next year then he would get my vote

AD is an exception because he was pretty damn good last year as rookie that was pretty banged up all year

yeah AD's rookie season has been played down way too much. he was a lot better last year than the perception by so called "experts". i'm guessing most of them didn't watch any hornets games last year. monty also kept him on a lower than desired minute count

Okay, I didn't mean literally.

Dragic's steals going from 1.6 per game to 1.4 isn't "going down" in my opinion. It's such a small movement that it's virtually the same.

But the things that went up went up much more than the areas where Davis' stats went up. The only area where Davis had a noticeable increase was points. He increased 4.4 points per 36 minutes from last year.

Dragic increased 5.0 points per 36 minutes. And all of his efficiency percentages went way up, too.

I mean, I don't see how you could make the case that Davis showed more improvement than Dragic statistically.

The person who really got screwed is Gerald Green. He improved just as much as Dragic did...

Davis Advanced Stats

Dragic Advanced Stats

Across the board, Davis didn't improve in Reb % and Steal %, though those areas were more marginal than Dragic's dips. Everything else, quite literally, improved. I mean I know it's hard for the Pelsessed Rocketards that troll PT to admit that the Pels have anything nice and shiny.

Oh, and did I mention, uhh Monty Williams vs. Jeff Hornacek? The Suns DOUBLED their win total from last year. This is as much a team award as it is an individual award. Like people will say, the criteria is subjective on all of these individual awards.

I never said he didn't improve.

I said he didn't improve as much as Dragic statistically.

And who cares about Williams vs. Hornacek? It doesn't matter WHY they improved. The only thing that matters is that they did improve.

And as for your point about being a "pelsessed rocketard", I'm not a troll who never gives credit and says stupid things to get a rise. I came into the season with nothing against the Pelicans. I even made all of those Pelican signatures some people are using (#TimeToFlap). I'm not a hater. It's generally Pelicans fans who starts talking crap and taking offense if a poster talks about their team realistically instead of pumping sunshine.

Boom agrees with you so not a good look. Coincidence that you're the only one in here flapping your gums about the mention of Davis winning the MIP award?

I didn't say I disagree with the decision as the Suns have to win some awards this year for their ridiculous improvement. My point is only that, were the voters to go off black and white ink, Davis has a more valid argument than Dragic.

If this was the case Dragic wouldn't have won in such a landslide.

I've learned to ignore your pels related posts for the most part, I'm sure others have followed suit.

I notice how you took one piece of my sentence to frame your argument. When was the last time a #1 pick finished 3rd in his 2nd year? If he had been picked 23 and made the same jump it's a different story.

If he hadn't of gotten dinged and ruined his per game averages late in the season, it would have been harder to vote against him.

Davis has so many factors working against him:

- Team Records
- Injuries/Being held out of games
- Being the #1 pick

Umm.. what? There were plenty of others, including Pelicans posters, who said in this thread that Dragic deserved it instead of Davis.

And that is where I disagree. Dragic had a much more drastic improvement overall than Davis did.

he'll never win any awards if he misses 15+ games every year. that may be something he won't overcome,

Sort of making the point of why he shouldn't have won it. I expected AD to make this sort of leap this year and majority of people around the league would agree.

If AD wasn't so banged up his rookie season than the jump in his numbers wouldn't have been so large

You are acting like Dragic was healthy the entire season

quote:

Davis has so many factors working against him:

Dragic had a larger one; his teammate came in 4th place of this year's voting, which means he obviously stole some of Dragic's votes.

AD is one of my favorite players in the league (Pels have been one of my league pass teams the past two years because of him), but Dragic deserved this award.
