Apparently the BOA system makes the shoe more comfortable. I've never owned a pair, but that's what my customers have said.
I'll throw out the Footjoy DNA as my suggestion. Very comfortable and you can get previous models on closeout for a very good price.

I have the top left one with the tightening knob but in black. Very comfortable golf shoe.

The BOAs are the most comfortable I have ever had. The knob is not noticeable when being worn.

Ended up getting the footjoy hyper flex 2 -silver and yellow. Super comfortable. Can't believe how advanced the golf shoes are in just the last 4 or 5 years. When I bought my adidas back then, they were supposed to be damn near top of the line.

Really didn't like the look of any of the new shoes - FJ, adidas, Ecco and Nike.
