$50 an hour is way too cheap.

Find someone who will charge you at least $100 an hour. Then you'll take it serious enough to follow through on the practice necessary to actually make a difference.

Awesome and 5 for $200, as of right now i live in Birmingham and i give lessons. I work for The Dewsweepers Golf School and i am currently going through the PGA program to get my Class A certification. I am looking to move back to Baton Rouge this summer and teach. ( I am from baton rouge ). Just trying to get a feeler out there for what people want.

I was a tennis pro at a junior academy for 2-3 years after graduating from LSU
Cheap rates attract shitty students (most of the time)

youre going to be getting hacks out there by charging 50 bucks IMO.
Then if you raise the price due to not making as much as you thought you look like an a-hole.

JMO of course, I know golf is a different kind of animal than tennis.

Great deal though, most would do it if they looked at your resume etc. and saw you were a good pro.

Answer this question for me and I'll tell you if I would take a lesson from you; Does a golf ball's initial direction depend on the angle of the swing path or the clubface?

Stump someone. Every teacher should know that, a lot don't though.

Clubface = direction
Path = curvature

It depends on the path that the club head is traveling at the point of impact.

Thats what is wrong about the PGM program, they teach you how to run a pro shops, course management, turf management ect. They dont teach you about the swing or how to teach someone. I work at a place where 3 guys have their PGA Class A certifications but not one of them knows about the swing or can teach the swing at all. They are great in the proshop. I just wanna help people get better, i love teaching golf. I am 23 and dont know everything yet but with every lesson i learn more.

This is correct. I've had previous instructors who thought the opposite and a lot of the top instructors still think it depends on path. I wouldn't want to take lessons from someone who doesn't understand ballflight laws.
