Golf Board: Thoughts on how to initiate the takeaway

Usually when i hit my first few shots for the day I imagine trying to keep my triceps connected in my pits and just rotate everything together.
As I get a little warmer I can think of just getting the club head where it needs to be halfway to the top.
Ive heard some ppl just get their left shoulder working under their chins..
What are your thoughts

I always focus on getting my hands farthest away from my body while still staying on plane. That way I know I get a good turn and good lag for added distance.

I'm kinda along this plane of thinking, except I consciously think about keeping the clubhead outside of my hands (when looking DTL from behind me), until the club is parallel to the ground. From there, it's just easy movement to the top and getting my weight over my right side.
My only thought on the downswing is hitting the inside back of the ball with the butt of the club (helps me visualize compression).

I usually think bring my hands inside, bc I fight a slice; works fairly well most of the time...

I try to push my left shoulder right under my chin. Also try to keep my club head outside my toe line one the way back.

What's the adjustment time for switching from a regular shaft driver to a 60 gram stiff flex driver? I also switched to midsize grips. It is so frustrating.

Keep your left arm straight and start the backswing by "pushing" your left shoulder. Once you get your shoulder under the chin there is no need to go any farther. It's a trigger to keep from taking a backswing too far.

This was the most important lesson I have ever learned in golf. I became a powerful hitter after I learned how to do this consistently. as a short guy with short arms every millimeter I can create between my hands and body means distance.
As for takeaaway mechanics, I do drills where I drag the club straight back on the ground until I can't keep it on the ground anymore and stop when the club is parallel to the ground. Just repeat that over and over. helps me get the club to proper slot and keeps me from getting steep

I think about nothing.

Nah. That's natural.
