Good point Stagg. I meant the Merican point more so on the fact that's it's really an international sport and some of the international competitors have a real shot at winning but would not be allowed to have a firearm in their country.

Man same reason people always get upset over things. Given the games being held in California and the public agenda that's being pushed right now, some folks think guns have no place in this.
I'm all for it. Especially since Castro was a former Seal and Crossfit has a big military presence.

Many of the people that compete in this are free spririted hippie liberal types (which I suppose I have a little of that in me as well, but that doesn't mean I don't think about shooting a deer in the heart with an arrow every single day) which means most of them are ignorant to the outdoors/shooting/guns/hunting. If the competition is in California the gun will mostly likely have to be CA compliant. Lame.

They could probably get a voucher for it yes. And no there is a purse prize for the winner as well.

I don't know, I only worked in the Purchasing Department of one of the largest privately owned gun stores in the state for years. Worked with manufacturers and distributors for product research and new innovations, I conducted discount negotiations, I attended buying shows, etc. I only shoot about 20,000 rounds per year
