Futility bowl

There are already 40 bowls so why not add one more and invite the two worst teams? Wouldnt Kansas versus UCF be at least as interesting as Central Michigan versus a 5-7 Minnesota? The argument for getting into a bowl is the extra practices are a great benefit and is there anyone that would argue that Kansas and UCF need more practice time?

Seems like an idea for an Onion article.

I think it is actually kind of a fun idea.

But would you end up with really bad teams tanking after they're 1-9 or 0-10 for a chance to play a "bowl" game? I can see it now. The coach at some Mac or Belt school, telling his kids if they lose the next 2, which shouldn't be that hard since they've lost the first 10, they get rewarded with a trip to Detroit for a bowl game the week between New Years and school starting back. Beats by Dre headphones for everyone.

The Futility Bowl committee will pour over mountains of data in a concerted effort to determine who has achieved the least and has the least deserving resume. No worries
