Frank Mir out of Strikeforce bout with Cormier

Mir is injured and has been pulled. No word on an opponent. This is beyond our of hand. Why anyone would buy tickets based on a fight card now is lost on me. Screw this crap.

yeah, I wouldn't want to fight up and coming cormier either...
got to meet the LA native in 2003 at the okie state wrestling camp. Dude is on his 3rd mission in live after ncaa championship(s) and wrestling for the usa in the olympics. His fight through adversity after tragically losing his daughter to a car accident years ago. One of the most amazing men I've ever met for sure!

Maybe Arlovski will get a crack. He has about the same chance, but we've seen how these things go sometimes (Ex: Varner/Barboza.

Some of my friends are close close friends with Cormier, so I've met him on several occasions. Great guy.
He's ready to get this going and get to UFC.
Its going to be a challenge for him though, because he's going to have to lose some weight to fight Light Heavyweight, and he's never been a guy to work hard on his weight. He will not go Heavy in UFC because he will refuse to fight Cain.

Any ideas on how this can be fixed? Are we headed for a fighter's union eventually in the UFC? Something has to be done......this crap is ruining the league

I don't know the details, but I'm sure someone here does. Something has to be done, as this past year has been ridiculous. Dana, Lorenzo, & company need to take action ASAP

Werdum has indicated interest in the fight. Honestly, that would be a better matchup than Mir, at least in my mind (though without much of the name value). Werdum is also the best available HW without a scheduled bout. Hopefully this works out so Cormier can get the hell out of SF.

Maybe have fighters have shorter training camps? Not have 5 round fights hell I don't know what else you can do to prevent injuries. Most injuries come from submission and wrestling practice though.
