Expansion on the deck?

Hopefully not. The league is perfect with 30 teams.

bc how many commercials do you see on a pay per view fight? People pay for events with the expectation they don't get commercials like normal tv

sonics are a logical choice. Hansen wants to bring a team there.

Supersonics definitely need to come back. Those Kemp and Payton teams were fun to watch.

Im wondering if all sports will go to a cheap PPV model to make up for cord cutting and content stealing
That's how it used to be to watch your local team.

The amount of short-sighted 'what will happen when TNT doesn't give them $2.7B' is somewhat staggering.

Offsets; businesses that lose one revenue stream, offset it with others. National TV deal crater? Local and residual market rights are worth a mint, and are under-exploited. Foreign TV audiences are growing robustly, and should dwarf domestic audiences before the end of current domestic deals.

I wouldn't worry about the state of the NBA. I wouldn't worry about the state of MLB, though it is more precarious-- they've done the best job of the majors of turning the internet into revenue.

I'd worry for the NFL-- there's a reason they're pushing so hard for games in Europe-- they need to build their brand, and expand the pool of revenue sources, before they become vulnerable.

there won't be millions of people paying $49.99 for a regular season game.
