Seven Florida football players — including leading receiver Antonio Callaway — have been suspended for the Gators’ season opener against Michigan because of violations of team rules.

The suspended players are Callaway, junior defensive end Keivonnis Davis, freshman offensive lineman Kadeem Telfort, redshirt freshman defensive lineman Jordan Smith, sophomore defensive lineman Richerd Desir-Jones, freshman linebacker Ventrell Miller and freshman linebacker James Houston

Starting RB now out

Head Coach Jim McElwain has announced that Jordan Scarlett and Rick Wells are suspended from all team activities.

Holy crap. This was the game I was most looking forward to opening weekend. The game just got less interesting.

Not sure, maybe some UF fans can chime in on that. Callaway is a huge loss, I know that.

Well, I give that shark fricker credit for not taking a wait-and-see approach, then suspending them for some garbage game.

Callaway is the only big loss from a known-commodity standpoint. But losing two bodies at linebacker hurts because we are so thin at that position. If one or two of the starters get banged up, we don't really have many options.

Well Mcavain means business about getting the UF program back on track since Meyer let the thug culture hanging around. I honestly gained some respect for him now. Honestly that's one of the reason I like Coach O also you frick up and you get held accountable.

He is suing the university over the last one, and it looks like he has a pretty good case. The Office of Civil Rights is looking into it.

Callaway or not, with the lack of returning starters that Michigan has, this is a game McElwain has to win.

No excuses. If the offense looks like garbage, its time to be very concerned if McElwain is the right coach for UF.

Michigan will kick your face in and you know it. McElwain is a hack coach.

The SEC East hasn't exactly been quality the past couple of years...
He's supposed to be an offensive guru and we've actually gotten WORSE on that side of the ball. Muschamp didn't help out with the OL situation and then Grier's dumbass popping for steroids or whatever but it's year 3, dammit.
