Nicholls got fricking punished. Sam Houston did their best to push the Colonels'shite in. Should be 0-2 in the Southland. Lucked up against McNeese

I am hoping one of the Louisiana teams does well rest of the year. It gives the thread some traffic. Also makes it feel like I am not just posting worthless things, as there is an actual discussion in here.

Six MVFC teams in the top 13...crazy how tough the valley has become. MSU is really the only pushover.

SIU isn't even ranked and they gave Memphis a tough game.I would add USD @ WIU to the list of big games for this week, both teams are playing at very high level right now.

Write up from STATS....

FCS GAME OF THE WEEK

The Matchup: No. 3 Sam Houston State (3-0, 1-0 Southland) at No. 11 Central Arkansas (2-1, 1-0)

Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET at Estes Stadium (9,000) in Conway, Arkansas

Television: ESPN3

Series: Sam Houston State leads 6-5 (last meeting: Sam Houston won 59-23 at home on Nov. 19)

The Skinny: In last year's meeting, Sam Houston jumped to a 17-0 lead in the first 10 1/2 minutes and Central Arkansas didn't recover from its deficit, committing four of its five turnovers in the first half. The Bearkats' quick-starting ways have continued this season as they have outscored opponents 37-9 in the first quarter and 109-40 by halftime. The Bearkats still think pass first with QB Jeremiah Briscoe (1,008 yards, 10 TDs), but that sets up the run of Remus Bulmer, Corey Avery and Javin Webb. All-America DE P.J. Hall returned to the lineup last week after serving a two-game academic suspension. Central Arkansas figures to control the game clock with RB Carlos Blackman, a veteran line and an offense that's averaging 247.7 rushing yards per game - up 60 from last season - and converting at a 52.3 percent clip on third downs. Briscoe casts a big shadow in the Southland, but UCA QB Hayden Hildebrand (22 career starts) is highly efficient, completing nearly 74 percent of his passes to rank No. 2 in the FCS. Seniors fuel the defense, including OLB Chris Chambers, Rover George Odum and CB Tremon Smith.

I mean, why run the ball against us when you can throw for 250 yards/game.

Actually surprised that is all we are allowing per game through the air.

Oh wait, we only gave up 45 passing yards to shitty HBU. We were averaging over 320 before last week.
