Great game to start the season off, will be interesting to see how many votes Montana gets as #1, especially after the two top teams lose (NDSU and ILS)

Four upsets from the week I see....

South Dakota St beats KU
Villanova beats UConn (I really dont think it will be an upset though)
Northwestern St at home vs Southeastern.
UNI at Iowa State

Pitt vs Youngstown will be a good game also.

There is not any good games out west this week. The only semi intriguing game is Cal Poly @ Montana. Just want to see if Montana can beat a team everyone expects them to.

The EWU Oregon game intrigues me slightly due to Vernon Adams, but it will get ugly with Oregon rolling, IMO.

SMS vs Memphis will get ugly quickly.

The Game of the Week is #7 Jax St at #8 Chattanooga. I think Chattanooga wins it at home and the loser may need to win out for a top 8.

I'm still not sure what to think of this game. I couldn't make heads or tails of NWSU last year. Beat La Tech and Sam Houston but still couldn't break out of the pack in the Southland.

Southeastern is going to be stout defensively, but considering the way they finished the year offensively and the fact we're replacing Bennett, I have some worries about how long it might take the offense to get in gear. We're gonna learn a lot about both teams in week 1. That's for sure.

Chattanooga moreso that Jax St, considering the SoCon is in the midst of a real dry spell. Only one ranked team in the conference last year.

I don't know much about SDSU since they lost Zenner to graduation. I do know that KU sucks major monkey balls though. So I guess that's a possibility. Who does ILST play this weekend? I find that the polls are usually pretty reasonable when it comes to teams playing decent FBS teams. It will all depend on how they hold up against an FBS opponent. Montana will surely get a big jump in the rankings from their win.

Don't know why, but I hate starting out the season with conference games.

Will be watching UCA-Samford Thursday on the laptop with the other games on TV

Not so fast. UNI nearly beat Iowa last year and ISU was a better team. Iowa isn't expected to be any better this year either.

I feel the same way. It takes a few weeks for a lot of teams to find their identity. Conference games are pretty damn important.

Should be the best team we've fielded in 10+ years. Huge game opening the season. When all is said and done NSU and SLU may be the two best teams in the conference.

Should be a great game. Really pumped up for Thursday, wish I could make it to Natchitoches for this one.

Iowa never loses to MVC teams. UNI has been cooked there twice, the B1G officials wont let it happen. It is not about talent, it is about where the game is played.

Not so fast, SHSU is still in the Southland.

Cal Poly is next up in the Grizzly Den. I like Montana, but as Big West brethren, I'm rooting for the SLO Mustangs.

No, SHSU and SLU or maybe McNeese. Just noticed NSU hasn't beat McNeese since 2004, that's a pretty nice streak.

If it can get Bronco Mendenhall fired, I'm all for it.

NDSU is saying Wentz is questionable for next game due to high ankle sprain. They are idle this week, so it may have been pretty bad last Saturday.

Western Carolina has announced they are playing South Carolina in 2016

Good article on SMS Coach, growing to like the hire but still not sure how it will work. I am willing to give him a chance.

Decent article on Nova's OL

NAU running backs article

He is just saying that since he is from NY/NJ area and trying to look smart and attention seeking.

He is Peej/Joxy all rolled into one.

I am surprised UCA has not attempted to hit the NWA area hard lately. I know they have walk-ons from NWA. I also understand NWA usually has kids that quit once they get into college ball.
