Guy continues to win and show that age is only a number

Wimbledon is the biggest of them all and he continues to make the finals of the biggest tourney

Sampras was good but Federer just has the best all around resume

You think he's HOF material?

Yet his knees are about 5 years older.

Rafa was the best at his peak. Federer has the better career due to better health.

ETA:

Comparing the two, not talking "all-time"

I struggle with who is better between Federer and Nadal and I always come to the head-to-head record. If Nadal never gets injured, I say he's the GOAT. They are both incredible.

Mark Prior might be the worst comparison I have ever heard. Prior went 42-29 in five seasons of work. Federer meanwhile, has won 17 grand slams over a ten year span.

I actually think Pete had the best A game of anyone.

It's tough to compare Laver because I don't think he could play majors as a pro for 5 or 6 years. So, he might have 20 if he could have played those years. Then again, 3 of 4 were on grass, but I don't think it matters.

My world has Fed and Laver 1 and 1a.

Sampras and Nadal 3 and 3a.

Borg at 5.

If Rafa gets to 16 and Fed doesn't win another slam, he has a great GOAT claim. If Roger goes to 18 and Nadal doesn't win any more slams, the argument is over, despite the H2H.

You don't get credit for "what could have been".

My bad, I meant comparing the two. I am no tennis historian and won't pretend to be.

Rafa is great, but it's hard to go against Federer. Rafa never dominated like Federer did. 7 straight Wimbeldon finals winning 6 of them (5 in a row), 6 straight US open finals winning the first 5 in a row and also won 4 out of 7 Australian opens. I know he struggled with the French only winning one, but he made the finals 5 times in 6 years. No one has ever had a run like that and it could be a while before we see it again.
