WSOP Final Table happened to come on one of the ESPN channels.

Not that I figured I could teach a couple of 5 year old boys how to play Texas Hold em, but I was just generally explaining what was going on, talking about the poker chips, the hands, all that good stuff.

One of my boys looks at me and says, "Can you eat those chips?"

That's when I realized that I may not have ever wasted 5 minutes as spectacularly as I just did.

I could play poker at 5.

I brought a deck of cards for "game day" in kindergarten. No one played with me expect an Indian boy. We played one hand. I won. He quit. That is the entire story.

Teach them Blackjack. Will help with their math and counting cards is super easy to teach too.

I might not have asked the question but I would've thought it at that age.

Like when Jessica McClure fell down the well as a little girl, I thought to myself what's a whale doing underground?

Funny as I was just thinking about teaching them blackjack a few days ago, as it would be easy to learn and just another game we can play together.

Yea, definitely.

I'll probably start w/blackjack though. We've yet to play any games involving a deck of cards, so it'll be a good start.
