The best part of all of this is that the Bucks are the same organization that took Yi Jianlian, who claimed to be 19 but was actually 27.

I don't think that's true at all. He was confirmed to have been born in 1984 lol.

Is Kidd in charge of personnel decisions too or is he just the coach?

Two years ago they were one of the more promising teams.
how does Thon Maker being 23 make the Bucks no longer promising?

I'm still cracking up at the idea of an 18-year old seven footer just fricking destroying a bunch of middle schoolers

It reminds me of a time I went to a libertarian conference in Orange County and this 6'6" D2 player played with a bunch of us 5'10" uncoordinated white kids. One of the lecturers broke his ribs when the guy was boxing him out. It was hilarious

No Brandon Knight or Larry Sanders. Rashad Vaughn didn't look good at all last season. Thon was a massive massive reach. Monroe looks bad when you have to add other assets to even enter trade talks if you were to deal him. Enter MCW being MCW and there you have it, a team likely to be picking in the top ten yet again next season. Unless Giannis puts the team on his back, there's really no other way to see it.

Meh...he's got a lot of power in MIL.

As for the Bucks, they finished nicely with Giannis at PG...(and he will be starting next year).

Middleton is seen as a top 10 SG and Parker is a lead scorer ready to explode.

Pair that with the defensive length and I still like them for the long term in the East.

MCW has been relegated to the bench and that's a good thing.

(Full disclosure I was big on MCW coming out and was clearly wrong about his ability to get better as a shooter)

Greg Monroe might be a 6th man of the year candidate off the bench.

I like the Bucks, except Thon.

John Hammond, the GM, has one foot out the door and this pick wasn't his call, but as a drafting GM, he's been near the top of the league.

How was no one suspicious when he was driving to middle school basketball practice?

I don't believe there were any rules truly broken while he was at country day. Loopholes might have been used, but I don't think there were actually any rules broken, which is part of the reason for his departure.

He even sat out his entire 8th grade year, and the only game he played for the 8th grade team was against riverside, who had 4-5 D1 players on their 8th grade team, including a 6"9 center Khalea turner.

For some reason I feel vindicated for having never watched his hype videos. Nothing really interested me about the guy on the court.

So to my knowledge Thon Maker has a "younger" brother that is a sophomore playing on his school team also, I wonder if he is grown arse man also

I'm going to go back and watch his hype videos with this new knowledge that he was a legal adult playing against middle schoolers.

I call BS on that yearbook pic.

Australia is not some 3rd world country where people wouldn't notice and make it known. Also Thon has grown taller.

Here's some prominent players who are the same age as Thon Maker.. at most 1 year older:

Kyrie Irving
Kawhi Leonard
Enes Kanter
DeMarcus Cousins
Damian Lillard
John Wall

These guys are going into their 7th season in the NBA...

@ the Bucks drafting a 24 year old project with their top 10 pick.

@DraftExpress
Before the draft, Thon Maker's guardian Ed Smith told me that reddit yearbook photo was from an English school in Perth, not a high school.
So everyone at that school (and on that yearbook photo page) were different ages, and nothing to glean from Thon being next to 23 year olds.
