ESPN the Magazine

SMGDH

Who in the frick wouldn't want MJ taking the last shot? Terrible question. This player said it best:

quote:

"That's like ranking the shortest giant. I'd want the ball in LeBron's hands at the end of the game, but I'd want him to pass to Kobe or Jordan for the last shot. And don't forget, LeBron is not a great free throw shooter either."

Give up half your salary to play with Lebron? Tha frick kind of question is that?

MWP or Kobe defend Lebron? NBA players are delusional. Kawhi Leanord and Jimmy Butler are much much better guarding Lebron.

Lebron is a flopper? How about is everyone in the league a flopper?

Guys would pick Michael Jordan over Lebron for a last second shot and wouldn't give up HALF THEIR SALARY to play with him. SHOTS FIRED!!!!

Solid work as usual from the world wide leader.

You're fricking stupid, half of their salary for ALL of them still ensures stability.

Why do all of these things have to be confidential? If you can't put your name to something, then don't say it.

Cleveland couldnt get talent around LeBron cause Cleveland sucks.

Only an idiot would have an issue taking a salary cut to party in Sobe, Crush Latin Supermodels, Win Championships, and avoid State Taxes.

Uhh, Mo Williams and Antawn Jamison?

Neither are all stars. Mo Williams was selected as an alternate in 2009 because Stern figured Cleveland should get two guys in because they had the best record in the league. Pierce had Rondo, Garnett, and Allen. Kobe had Pau and Andrew Bynum (when he was healthy).

Jamison was washed up when he was on the Cavaliers... he didnt even start.

That team was LeBron and scrubs. Short scrubs at that, who didn't have the length to guard Orlando' shooters.

never mind that the Cavs actually had the cap room to snag a really good FA the year LeBron left. At worst they would have ended up with David Lee and had a very good chance of landing Bosh.
You can't be serious with this. David Lee? As a viable #2 on a Championship team? Come on.

And LeBron tried to convince Bosh to go to Cleveland. Bosh said no.

several things stood out to me

1) seems idiotic that Ron Artest was still named the second best guy to defend Lebron... he's just not the player he used to be.

2) 50% of the NBA thinking he would have carried the Cavs to a title is an obscene amount of respect

3) the last second shot thing tells you it is about rep. MJ still has it and in spite of his miserable statistics at the end of games Kobe is regarded as a better finisher than LJ

4) 15% of the NBA being willing to halve their salary to play with him sounds like a small number but it is really not. Most of us couldn't name anyone in our industry we'd take a 50% pay cut to work with.

Not only this, but Paul George didn't exactly defend Lebron very well in the ECF...

If that was the case, Ray Allen would've got 100% of the vote for saving their season.

Who in the hell would give up half their salary just to play with LeBron... That's just retarded. These guys have a relatively small Window of top earning potential for their lifetime. I agree in theory, but I think Haslem did just that.

What's amazing about all the Heat hate is, everyone says athletes are just in it for the money blah blah blah, and yet you have Heat team where almost every player is playing for less than their market value, and that goes overlooked. And that goes for the Big 3 all the way down to guys like Haslem, Miller, even James Jones who sits at the end of the bench and never gets any minutes when he certainly could be getting some playing time on lots of teams, Memphis comes to mind.
