So much so that they told reporters and showed video of him doing it?

Yes. But they told him they wouldn't cooperate with the NCAA. It's a foolproof plan.

This is a very interesting case. As I mentioned earlier, if the guys the brokers don't talk to the NCAA. Nothing will come of this. Yes I agree there will be a sideshow like the Cam case throughout the year. But the NCAA has no way of proving anything happened. Basically sort of like Cam. They are saying we did something wrong to the NCAA, but there isn't anything you can do about it. Brilliant if you ask me.

If the video gets out the NCAA will use it. They don't need to interview the brokers if they have the video.

If they suspend Manziel, they not only lose the O'Bannon case, but then open themselves to lawsuits.

Jay Bilas basically won the case against them for Ed O'Bannon's lawyers when he obliterated the NCAA over their store, in which they were still selling jerseys by player names.

The video proof being shown to ESPN makes it necessary for the NCAA to find proof and nail Manziel. Otherwise, it just enhances their reputation for ineptitude/cowardice. We all know now that Manziel is guilty, so it's just a matter of proof.

i heard a theory on this today from a Bham sports talk show..supposedly the manziel family put some of these brokers on notice because they were using the Johnny Football name to promote their merchandise. The brokers got pissed and decided to turn JFF in for taking money

Dan Patrick also mentioned this today . He also said something along the lines that Johnny Manziel signed the items as Johnny Football and then eBay removed hundreds of items signed as JF because he holds the JF copyright

Emmert just announced that the NCAA will no longer be selling jerseys themselves.

When Manziel signed up to be an Aggie he must have thought that A&M stands for Autographs & Money.
