You are rolling your eyes but it was a perfect analogy

You are saying people should have to think about everything they do and how it would upset a few irrational illogical people. It is crazy how this is becoming such a standard thought process

i am not saying people have to think about literally everything they do. jesus christ. im saying in this one instance, given how batshit insane our politics are right now, a segment where people are bidding on black people is not necessarily the best idea and that they were always going to have a reaction like this as it pertains that one segment

They arent bidding on black people. They are bidding on football players.

Some are black, and some are white

and it doesnt take that much thought into seeing how, when the bidding process came towards the black players, a decent amount of people were going to take it

I am sorry. I think it is completely backwards for the logical rational people, to be forced to change their actions for the illogical irrational people. THat is 100% what you are advocating whether you want to admit it or not

and you are the one acting like i support the notion that we have to whitewash everything we do in our everyday lives to appease a few nutjobs

this was objectively a poor decision. this isnt like ESPN threw up the words "draft auction" on a screen and people flipped out about it. that is illogical. ESPN shouldnt have to change their wording around because of perceived offense when there logically was none

this was totally different. you had an auction set up, with an auctioneer, and then you had bidding on players, some of whom were black. in this single setting, some people are going to take it a certain way and they arent illogical to do so. ESPN could have easily kept the premise of "how much you would pay in an auction draft for this player" and not gone down this road. but they did, and they should have seen this reaction coming

Yes they are.

Football players (white and black)

fantasy football season

Equating to slavery is illogical. It is 100% forced

They weren't bidding on black people. They were bidding on football players. I believe 9 of the top 20 picks this year are white folk.

I can see how that that one segment conjurs up the image

right, and the image of seeing black football players being auctioned in front of a bunch of white people is going to be taken a certain way by people

To rational people that aren't looking to be offended? Or people that are intelligent enough to understand context?

and given our current political climate, which one of these groups is larger? once again, im not arguing that ESPN should walk on eggshells and not do anything to avoid responses like this. because thats impossible. but this one instance was pretty easily avoidable imo and they could have easily performed the same concept and just gone about it differently

I'm gonna guess that more people aren't offended than are

I sorta get what you're saying.

But, your point isn't coming across all that well AND we disagree with it. So your point seems kinda ridiculous.
