ESPN host compares Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to a slave owner

Mr. Wilbon, co-host of “Pardon the Interruption,” took issue with Mr. Jones’ stance that players who do not stand for the national anthem before football games will not play.
“And the word that comes to my mind?and I don’t care who doesn’t like me using it?is plantation,” Mr. Wilbon said on Monday’s show. “The players are here to serve me, and they will do what I want. No matter how much I pay them, they are not equal to me. That’s what this says to me and mine.”

ESPN declined to comment on Mr. Wilbon’s remarks.

How would Wilbon know what a plantation is like

What else does ESPN expect? They asked for this.

or maybe it could be the much more logical reason that he OWNS THE FRANCHISE. people refusing to buy merchandise because some players on his team kneel for the anthem makes his franchise value go down, which is the opposite of what any company would want from an employee

He's got a point

Well Jerry owns the team and can do whatever the frick he wants. With that said, if he tells his employees to do something, they can do it or find another job. Way it goes at any business. Doesnt make all business owners equivalent to slave owners.

No, Wilbon. It’s like a company. My company doesn’t let me bring a firearm into the office. That’s perfectly legal, but not allowed by my company. I don’t consider it similar to a plantation.

How about this novel idea ESPN. He could just be like...you know...their boss.

wilbon is as uncle tom as they come. LOL at him. i suppose employers saying their employees cant smoke weed is like a plantation. i guess employers having a dress code is plantation-esque. give me a break

I wonder what it feels like to go through life thinking every single person on the planet who says something you don't like is a racist.

frick this guy. People all over the world everyday get told what they can and can't do on company time (or in the company name or in the company uniform, etc.) by their boss. Get over it.
