He was shitty in general but at the beginning when he used the concussion thing to blast them was just pathetic. NOONE was talking about head trauma in football as a serious long term effect in 2000-2001. He just found a reason to bash it, frick bob costas

Geezus I was never a big Costas fan but what an arrogant elitist prick he is. Hope he gets roasted for this.

Vasgersion and Coach easily came off as the best in this. Two guys that would be fun to hang around back then.

I missed the first half of it. When is the encore? I knew before it kicked off that it would never be anything more than minor league football to me, but I didn't think it would tank after one season either. I watched a few games, but only if there was nothing better on. I did like some of the creativity on the telecasts. Did anyone other than Maddux and Smart ever make it to the NFL after XFL collapsed? Costas really tore McMahon apart in that HBO interview. What happened to the blimp?

Just turned over. Cable doesn't have a TV guide channel.

Vasgersion is awesome in this. Las Vegas was packed and hyped for the first game. Vasgersion had Ebersol and McMahon in his ear at the same time giving him conflicting directions when the telecast opened from break into the cheerleaders. I had forgotten the football was so bad. Exit Vasgersion. Enter Jim Ross!

They had three former XFL players listed at the end that played in the NFL. Cannot remember who was the third!

For some reason, I thought the XFL lasted longer than 1 season.

If it were started today, I'd give it more of a chance.

If the quality of the football were the same, the shitstorm social media would create would be worse than the pressure they felt 16 years ago from scribes, and television anchors.

On phone and accidentally downvoted when I meant to upvote, you are correct

I was trying to remember how many details we had on the whole generator debacle back then, I don't remember knowing anything as to what happened

Now twitter would've had the the gas man's name on blast in a hour

Would the xfl last longer with social media?

Nope. The pussywillows these days would be so butt hurt over the promos from back then, how they 'exploited sex' and women's rights, safety bs, etc....

Now if WWE revived American Gladiator, that may have a chance w/ social media these days...
