As far as general hype among Americans, it's the biggest since De La Hoya-Mayweather in 2007.

Mayweather as a Featherweight/Lightweight would aggressively walk fighters down(see Chavez or N'Dou). Mayweather as a Featherweight/Lightweight had some action packed fights.
As he moved up he did get a bit more cautious & refuse to stand there & take punches.
Slips punches & satisfied with a 1 or 2 punch counter.
